The Four Modes of Living - Make Success a Habit
Each day, each moment, we are presented with an opportunity for success and growth. The negative experiences teach us valuable lessons and help us grow. The positive experiences encourages and stimulates us for further success. Still, only a few people make the best of every opportunity presented to them and have an explosive growth in their lives. Others constantly whine over their failures and are afraid to seize the opportunities. And many others fall somewhere in between.
What makes some people achievers and some others whiners? The truth is, all of have an achiever and a whiner inside of us. There are four possible modes of living, and whether you are a whiner or an achiever depends on which mode you currently are in. Read on to know about the four modes of living - it will help you identify where you are, and change it if you want to.
Before I share the modes with you, I want you to know that it is possible to be in several modes at once - for instance, you may be in the Unconscious Positive mode of your career where you do everything right, but you may be in an Unconscious Negative Mode with respect to your family life, where you do not even realise the eroding quality of this aspect of your life. And your health maybe in the Conscious Negative Mode, while your finances are in the Conscious Positive Mode. Attaining Unconscious Positive Mode for all aspects of your life is perhaps the best goal we could aspire for.
Unconscious Negative Mode:
Here, you are constantly making the bad moves. You complain, whine, fear, worry and otherwise undermine every growth opportunity presented to you. Apathy maybe your keyword. You are going downhill with every step. You do not sieze the opportunities, or perhaps even realize their importance. You are living in a negative mode, and unconsciously at that. The very fact that you are in this personality development site shows that you are probably not in this mode - since people stuck in this mode often do not care about personality development at all. These people are stuck in a routine of struggles and exhaust themselves easily. If you are in this mode in your weight department, you may be over-eating and not exercising enough and consequently suffering from an overweight problem, still you may not be ready to do anything about it - writing it off as genetics or some other thing you have no control over.
Conscious Negative Mode:
This is the stage where you realise something is not right, and that you can do better. You may still not push past fear and laziness, but at least you are aware that you are living a stagnant or negative life. Once you reach this stage, a slight push and will power could propel you to the next mode. You are conscious of a need to better yourself and move on - you just cannot bring yourself to do it. Overcoming procrastination and practising delayed gratification could help you move on to the next mode. If you are over-weight, you may now be feeling the pangs when you look at yourself in the mirror, and want to do something about it, although you cannot get around to doing it just yet. Getting a little motivation would help you immensely.
Conscious Positive Mode:
You are ready to be an achiever, and have started taking positive steps towards it. You have acquired a knowledge on what to do to get what you want, and are starting to put it into practice. Every day, you make a conscious choice to get up early, go to the gym, save some money, eat healthy, learn something new and so on. You are consciously pushing yourself to be in a go-getter mode. You use your will power to turn yourself to an achiever. Self-hypnosis could help to keep you positive and motivated. This is the mode where you start seeing better and better results, motivating you to move further with perseverance.
Unconscious Positive Mode:
When you have been in the Conscious Positive Mode long enough, a curious thing begins to happen. You start seeing that the effort required to keep up the positive moves become lesser and lesser. Going to the gym becomes a routine. Eating raw vegetables is not such a chore anymore. Resisting those shopping urges start becoming easier. Opportunities tend to present themselves more often and grabbing them becomes a habit. Congratulations, you are in achiever mode now! You have cultivated the habit of success, and now it has become so deeply ingrained in you that you cannot help it. :) When you are in this mode, having everything you want is a piece of cake! You unconsciously make the right choices always, and success follows success. Your body is trim and fit, and you feel on the top of the world! ;)
