Day 1 of my Lucid Dreaming experiment was not a success, but definite progress has been made.

Last night I went to bed with a Dream Journal next to me for easy access, and fell asleep after telling myself that I need to remember the dreams. I should have mentioned my lucid dreaming plans, but no point crying over spilt milk.

Anyway, I had 3 or 4 long dreams last night. And after each dream, I reached a state of semi-consciousness where I was telling myself, look here is the exact recall of your dream.Go write in the journal! But alas, the dream recall was so excellent that I was sure I would remember it in the morning. So I thought I would write them down in the morning and went back to sleep.

Morning when I woke up, I remembered my last dream with good detail, and the first dream only the portion just before I reached semi-consciousness at night, and in the case of second and third dreams, only the memory that I had a dream. :(

I wrote it all down in the dream journal anyway.

I had an afternoon nap today. I went to sleep telling myself strictly that I would have a Lucid Dream (possibly a WILD - Wake-Induced Lucid Dream).  But what happened is this - I was in a state of semi-consciousness all through my sleep. I dreamt pretty much like day dreams.. I had full control over everything. But it was not lucidity because I went straight to this semi-conscious state after lying down. Now I cannot remember the details of the day dreams or whatever I had in this state. So I wasn't fully conscious either. I am not sure how to classify my nap experience. Perhaps more sleep research is in order ;) Wish me luck! :)

One more thing - I have chosen not to write an article about Lucid Dreaming because the promise I have given in the home page of this site clearly states everything would be first-hand experience. Guess I was wrong in guessimating yesterday that I would have a first-hand experience in Lucid Dreaming by now!
