I have some great news for my readers. I hope you remember my previous post about an article of mine which was plagiarized by another author. I recently found out that another of my articles has also been similarly copied.

I contacted the concerned people in both cases, and I am happy to report that both documents have been taken down.

All the webmasters were really happy to solve the issue, and were serious about the issue of copyright infringement. I am just happy that the matter has been amicably solved.

Cheers!

These days, so many of us find it hard to find the time to read. Reading goes such a long way in helping us in personality development. But, perhaps with the onslaught of television and internet, it is becoming more difficult to keep our reading habit alive. Recently I had the privilege to deliver a speech on reading, and when asked, 95% of the audience responded that they do not read as much now as they did when they were younger.

In the article titled "simple ways to keep the reading habit alive," I am sharing some simple and effective methods which I have compiled, that help us to find more time and motivation to read. I am also sharing three downloadable tools in the article, in PDF format, all for free. Read the article here.

On plagiarism... 04/28/2009

Recently, I found myself a victim of online plagiarism. One of my articles was quoted verbatim on a scribd document, and no credit was given to me as the author of the work.

I have contacted the author, informing him about the issue. I hope it was an honest mistake and would be corrected soon. I will keep you posted!

This incident has made me look into all the wonderful advice available online about dealing with plagiarism. The most important one seems to be that we should always have some way to prove the date when we wrote the article. It could be just by sending an email to yourself with the content of the article included in the body. I have decided to take that and other steps to protect my articles.

I am perfectly okay with anyone reproducing my articles in part or whole, as long as it is acknowledged as written by me. Anyway, let us hope things settle down fast and we can put this matter behind us soon!

Cheers,
Gayathri.

Hello!

I have added a new article, Personal Magnetism - Part 1 to the site. It is the first of the article series that deals with improving one's personal magnetism. Hope this article helps you on your way to attain a magnetic personality!

In other news, I am contemplating adding a newsletter to the website. It is still in the idea stage, and I will add a subscribe page to the site once I get to the implement stage.

Also, you might have noticed that I changed the comment box in all the articles to ones provided by Disqus. This way, the comments will appear in the website, unlike the previous version were they were directly mailed to me.

A blog carnival page is also in my thoughts, and it may be realized soon. It will enable you to have access to quality articles written by personal development writers around the blogosphere. Keep watching the site to see more!

Cheers,

Gayathri.
